Olsen's Garden Shop

We met at the church and enjoyed key lime cupcakes (with whipped cream frosting) before carpooling to Olsen's Garden Shop in Payson.
Did you know that a pair of leather gloves is one of the most important gardening tools. That's because if you give them to your husband, he will help with the yard work. Owner, Brad Olsen told us that secret and gave away a pair. Did you know if Marietta quits watering her yard her snails will go away. She could also try to make a trap by burying a pint bottle and filling it with beer (gasp). The snails are attracted to it and will fall in and drown. Did you know we should all aerate our lawns once in the early spring and it's ok to rake up the plugs and through then away. Did you know if your plant leafs are yellow they are hungry for iron? Did you know this was a hard winter for roses, lots of them froze! you can cover the root ball with mulch to help protect them. All lawns need: 1. Pre-emergent, in early spring. 2. Weed n feed 3. lawn food plus iron 4. winterizer in the fall.
A big thank you to Brad Olsen for sharing an hour of his time and knowlegde with us. Also, the fun give aways.
